Properly equipped, the Equinox can tow up to 3,500 pounds, which is also impressive. Some competitors offer turbocharged four-cylinders that are similarly powered, but there's something to be said for a tried-and-true naturally aspirated V6. The aforementioned V6 engine is a peach too, with plenty of power on tap for passing maneuvers and uphill slogs. If you're shopping for a crossover that's great on road trips and highway journeys, the Equinox is better than most at dealing with America's underfunded road infrastructure, and it's one of the quieter vehicles we've tested at highway speeds. But is that enough to keep it out in front of its newer competitors? The 2015 Equinox still stands out for its comfort-oriented ride and optional V6 engine. The Chevrolet Equinox received its last redesign back in 2010, which is a pretty long time in automotive terms. If you're into buying newer vehicles all the time and expect the best in everything, then I'm sure you might find some flaws with this vehicle, but we love it!
Again, this vehicle was a huge improvement over what we had, so we really like it. It does have this "Eco" option, but haven't really noticed a difference. It downshifts a little harder than what I'm used to, but surprisingly, it shifts great and smooth when taking off from a stop. The only thing that I would complain about would be the downshifting when coming to a stop. We love this vehicle!! It's very comfortable and easy to drive. They gave us 2K for the van, and another 6K in rebates, so we financed right at 20K, great deal in my opinion.

We bought the Equinox brand new because we like the warranty and free 2 year scheduled maintenance that Chevy was offering (we're coming off … a lot of repairs on the mini van, so this was nice).

Our family was downsizing due to kids getting older and getting their own vehicles, so we decided to replace our mini van that we owned for 11 years!! Obviously, the technology has changed and this upgrade was a huge improvement from what we had. I get my oil changes every 5000 and rotate the tires every other, and she just keeps going July 2021:180,000 miles, and still going strong! My water pump went, but that was to be expected with all the mileage. My equinox gets a lot of wear and keeps On going! Later that day, I had to drive another hour back to my moms to pick my son. The next morning, I had to drive back to Boston and then home. The next day, I drove an hour and a half to Boston for my daughter and then back home. I had to change the battery which was 5 years old, but other than that, my equinox is still going strong! This weekend in particular, I had to drive and hour to my moms, and hour back. January 2020: 126,000 miles and still going. The original tires last in the 93,000 miles. I get an oil change every 5000 miles and rotate the … tires every other oil change. I only had one problem with it earlier with the oil gasket or something like that, but it was covered. I bought it in November 2015 with 3000 miles as a dealer loaner, and now it has 108,000 miles on it.
